2017 Members Weekend at Nature in Art
The Wildlife Art Society International Members 25th Anniversary Members Weekend and AGM on the 7th and 8th of October was well attended by over 30 members. Having organised the weekend I was looking forward to sitting back and enjoying the company of many like minds. I was not disappointed. On the Saturday a very enjoyable day was spent relaxing (?) with everyone hard at work on the the workshops and with some really good results!!! Thank you to Jamie Boots, Jackie Cox and Marion Kardasz our tutors.
The Sunday turned out to be a beautiful sunny day at Nature in Art and we spent it all indoors!!!! (one or two did slouch around on the benches in the garden for 10 minutes or so now and again including me and paid Martin Rumary a visit in the NIA artists studio). But what a perfect way to spend a Sunday with our guest artist the renowned water colourist Hazel Soan . What a treat. Hazel gave us a brilliant talk about painting wildlife in Africa, a small but important part of her painting life, and then a great critique partnered by our own equally eloquent Chairwoman Sarais Crawshaw. Everyone was really taken with Hazel’s enthusiasm for her chosen medium and we are are all in awe of her artistic talent. Thank you so much Hazel.
A big thanks to Nature in Art and Jenny in the NIA cafe for allowing us to invade Wallsworth Hall over the weekend.
